Housing Plus Group wanted to improve its compliance visibility and help it satisfy a growing demand for more assurance from residents. 

Alan Core, Head of Assets and Compliance at Housing Plus Group, experienced first hand the changing attitudes of the provider’s residents.

Alan said: “Our customers wanted improved visibility and we wanted to be able to give them more assurance that we were meeting our compliance targets.

“It’s no longer acceptable to just say that you’ve got a compliance percentage of x and you’ve got a piece of paper, and together these mean you’re compliant and you must be safe.”

Leaders at Housing Plus Group decided they would invest in technology to give them great visibility. This requirement was then added to the provider’s brief when it began the re-procuring process for its gas servicing. 

In April 2018, Housing Plus Group partnered with Gas Tag and tagged over 9,000 homes as part of the initial contract. 

“Gas Tag gives all round visibility,” reports Mr Core. “It gives us more than just a tick in the box in terms of whether we have a piece of paper that’s in date. It’s about true compliance, not just about achieving or surpassing targets."
